When Netflix original, “KPop Demon Hunters” premiered this summer, no one could have predicted just how much of a hit it would become. However, even with autumn on the horizon, the movie is still trending everywhere, reaching 13 weeks on Netflix’s list of Global Top 10 Movies.
Its success is a multitude of different factors from its immersive storyline to its natural blend of Korean culture and an incredible soundtrack. The moment it released, everyone was rushing to cover the songs, whether it was the iconic ‘Golden’ or the charismatic ‘Your Idol’. Even now there are some covers still stuck in our heads.

1. Arden Cho & ASTRO’s Cha EunWoo – ‘Free’ Cover
When audiences saw Jinu from “KPop Demon Hunters”, various K-Pop idols came to mind – including the charming Cha EunWoo of ASTRO. Together with Rumi’s voice actress, Arden Cho, the two gave this wonderful cover of ‘Free’. Their harmonies swept listeners off of their feet, making this a cover to remember, even until today.
2. Ahn HyoSeop – ‘Free’ Cover
Although Cha EunWoo looks like Jinu, Ahn HyoSeop is the voice of Jinu. His heartfelt rendition of ‘Free’ was an eyeopener to newer fans as they were introduced to his honey-like vocals. Just a few notes is all it took for everyone to fall in love with Ahn HyoSeop all over again.
3. IVE’s An YuJin – ‘Golden’ Cover
YuJin is a celebrated all-rounder, taking on the role of IVE’s wonderful leader, a top variety star, and incredible vocalist. Through the cover, she flexed her vocal chops and proved that she’s more than capable of hitting even the toughest notes in the iconic track. She exudes main vocalist energy, mesmerizing fans from beginning to end.
4. WonHo – ‘Soda Pop’ & ‘Your Idol’ Cover
When fans saw Saja Boy’s Abby, there was one idol that kept coming to people’s minds: WonHo. With his toned physique, impeccable dance skills, and lovely vocals, it was a cover that exceeded all expectations. He blurred the line between reality and fiction, proving to be a strong contender for a real life Abby if a live action of the film ever got green-lit.
5. MAMAMOO’s Solar – ‘Golden’ Cover
Solar is renowned for her unique singing voice and her ability to hit incredible high notes with apparent ease. While ‘Golden’ is a difficult song to sing, it seemed like a breeze for the idol. She belted notes with perfection, her voice powerful and melodic all throughout. She once again reminded everyone why she’s such a respected vocalist.
6. BTOB’s EunKwang – ‘Golden’ Cover
EunKwang might be a big jokester but when there’s a microphone in front of him and time to sing, he means business. Though the song is meant for a female vocal register, EunKwang nailed every note effortlessly. Funny and talented, the perfect description of who EunKwang is.
7-8. JUNHEE – ‘Your Idol’ & ‘Free’ with AleXa
This two in one special highlights JUNHEE’s covers of ‘Your Idol’ and ‘Free’, with the latter performed alongside fellow soloist AleXa. Through one cover, JUNHEE showcased a fierce and charismatic image. But together with AleXa, the two showed a softer and more sentiment side that perfectly matched the emotional lyrics. This duality was a treat and showed just how versatile JUNHEE is.
9. Ailee – ‘Golden’ Cover
While many singers stuck to covers, Ailee showed off her vocals through a rendition of ‘Golden’. It had the core of what made the track such a hit, but also showcased Ailee’s unique style. It proved to be different in the best way possible, feeling familiar but also refreshingly brand new.
10. DaHye – ‘Golden’ Cover
Though not a K-Pop idol, Park DaHye has established herself as a popular cover singer. While a number of her different covers reached upwards to millions of views, a video of her ‘Golden’ cover went viral and currently sits at 16 million views. One listen and you’ll understand why – her emotional delivery flawless high notes are proof enough of her vocal strengths.
Months later and “KPop Demon Hunters” is still making headlines in every way possible. Even now, we still have the soundtrack on repeat. But these covers bring something different and show the songs and artists in a completely different light.
