12-Year Idol Earns First Music Show Win Against BTS — Reaction Goes Wildly Viral

While all music show wins are important, the first is often the most memorable for both fans and idols.

On the April 10 edition of Music Bank, the two songs nominated were Red Velvet Irene‘s first comeback since her solo debut, “Biggest Fan,” and BTS’s first comeback after military-related hiatuses, “Swim.” Ultimately, “Swim” earned 5601 points and “Biggest Fan” earned 7,062, leading Irene to secure the win, her first as a solo artist.

Interestingly, Irene didn’t seem to realize she had won because the MCs didn’t announce the winner themselves. She only seemed to realize it when she was handed flowers, seemingly stunned but recovering enough to give her speech with a big smile.

Her win was shared on X, where the clip earned over 2.6 million views in a single repost.

Many fans of BTS and Irene congratulated both artists, while also showing amusement over her reaction.
