Recently, many K-Pop idol groups are launching their character series, which are created based on the representative animals or facial features of each member.

These characters are often featured on various occasions such as concerts and fan meetings, and some idol groups even produce exclusive animation contents for the characters and open pop-up store selling merchandise of these character series. Some K-Pop fans joked that these characters are becoming more popular than their “parents” that they are making comebacks more often than them!

Many of these character series are gaining immense popularity among K-Pop fans due to their cute appearances that portray the image and personality of their respective idols in an adorable way. Here are 4 cutest K-Pop boy group character series that capture fans’ hearts with their irresistible cuteness that make you want to take them home!

1. CRAVITY – CCREW

CRAVITY‘s character series CCREW consist of 9 animals including pig + wolf Woolpi (SeRim), penguin Queeni (Allen), tiger Rangmo (JungMo), quokka Wookka (WooBin), duck Dakong (WonJin), gimbap+dog Gangmong (MinHee), puppy+cloud Teori (HyeongJun), dragon Yong-T (TaeYoung), and rabbit Tommy (SeongMin).

CCREW were first introduced to LUVITY in November 2021 at CRAVITY’s fan meeting <CRAVITY COLLECTION: C-DELIVERY>, and the characters’ merchandise were on sale starting in January 2022.

What makes this character series particularly special is that all the members participated in creating the characters. Before CCREW were officially launched, CRAVITY revealed the entire process of creating CCREW through a YouTube series “CRAVITY character maker”, from brainstorming the characters from scratch, picking the colors of the characters, to presenting the final products to one another.

The fact that CCREW are made by the members not only showcased their creativity and personal styles, but also made LUVITY feel more connected to the characters.

CCREW also often appeared in CRAVITY’s online content, such as CRAVITY’s variety show <CRAVITY PARK>. In season 5 “Crew Chase” special episodes (ep.56 & 57), the members played a pursuit game where they were divided into the attacking and defending team, and the defending team had to find their CCREW plushies and put them into the CCREW Zone.

CCREW even appeared in the opening and ending in season 7. Moreover, every time when CRAVITY have pre-recording performances, they would post a photo on X (Twitter) showing the location for checking-in with a CCREW plushie. The CCREW plushie sometimes even holds a mini Remembong (CRAVITY’s official light stick)! Isn’t this so cute?

4. PLAVE – MMMM

Most K-Pop idol character series are animals, but some of them are different. PLAVE’s characters MMMM (meumemimu) are creatures from Caelum (the virtual world where PLAVE are from according to PLAVE’s worldview) that are made of data, pixels, and starshards.

The creatures are called MMMM because they make sounds like meu, me, mi, and mu, the pronunciation is also the same as replacing the consonants of each word of the Korean name of PLAVE (peu-le-i-beu).

MMMM consist of five characters, namely Meymu (YeJun), Moi (Noah) , Miimu (Bamby), Muhmo (EunHo), Meowmi (HaMin). As you might have already noticed, same as the name of MMMM, all the characters’ names are created by changing the consonants of each word of the members name. Isn’t this interesting?

MMMM made their first appearance in January 2025 during PLAVE’s live broadcast. Look how cute MMMM walked (0:24) and teleported themselves around by transforming into pixels (1:42)!

PLAVE also took MMMM to “Idol Radio”, and the host THE BOYZ’s SunWoo was completely shocked when he saw MMMM coming into the studio (3:37). Many PLLI said that their reaction was the same as his when they first saw MMMM, did you also react in the same way?

PLAVE also took MMMM abroad to their showcase in Japan in June 2025, where they introduced MMMM to Japanese PLLI. MMMM even stood on the shoulders of their respective members, and the members patting their MMMM characters and interacting with them were truly lovely, not to mention how Bamby drove all PLLI into a frenzy by kissing Miimu at the end (3:30)!
