“Heesu in Class 2” is here, and it’s all about secret crushes and the fun goofiness of high school romance, with some actually decent love advice thrown in the mix.
This K-BL is about Hee Su (Ahn Ji Ho), a student who unintentionally becomes the famous love counselor at his high school. His relationship advice is always spot-on, but he has yet to apply his good advice to his own crush.
Here are four things from the premiere that we’re excited to see more of in the upcoming episodes!
Warning: Episode 1-2 spoilers ahead!
1. Hee Su’s love advice
The love doctor is in, and he’s a lovesick high schooler who didn’t even want the job!? Yep, that’s Hee Su.
Hee Su somehow gained a reputation for giving great love advice, so he’s become someone students seek out when they need help with their relationship or crush. Whether he advises someone to break up or confess, it always seems to work out. His relationship savvy even gets him a free pass into the counseling club.
The irony is that Hee Su gives such good advice but doesn’t follow it himself. He has a secret crush on his best friend, Chan Young (Cho Jun Young), but he’s kept his feelings hidden. Chan Young is the school’s handsome, popular student who has had his fair share of short-lived relationships.
So far, Hee Su has accepted only liking his friend in secret, but with all the advice he’s been giving on taking a chance and confessing, he’s starting to think maybe he should take a chance too. The question is if he will follow through.
2. Hee Su’s universe
Hee Su seems fascinated with the universe; he even has a telescope set up on his rooftop. He’s always talking about the moon, planets, and how the universe works, and he relates these wonders of the sky to his struggles with love.
For all the silliness Hee Su gets into as a love counselor at school, he has some pretty deep, insightful thoughts on love. In a universe with endless possibilities, will Hee Su’s crush be reciprocated?
3. Everyone has a crush, but…
Seriously, everyone.
Either someone has a crush, or someone is being crushed on and is totally oblivious. Hee Su might be the most oblivious of them all, despite his fame as the school’s relationship counselor.
Hee Su even has his own mystery admirer. Ever since he found his favorite drink left on his desk, he’s been on the hunt for whoever is crushing on him. He hasn’t had much luck finding out who, but he’s certainly run into a couple of funny situations trying to figure it out.
Now it’s going to be a guessing game of who will muster up the courage and confess first.
4. Hee Su’s (unclear) love triangle
A love triangle is a tale as old as time in K-drama land, and, like most of them, this one isn’t so black-and-white.
Hee Su has always had his eyes on his best friend, but recently, another guy has entered the picture: the class president, Kim Seung Won (Lee Sang Jun). Seung Won is quiet, studious, and a little awkward, especially around Hee Su. He might very well be the polar opposite of Chan Young.
At first, Hee Su thinks Seung Won’s glares and staring are a sign of dislike, but they get closer when Hee Su joins the counseling club, which Seung Won is already a member of. The two also happen to be next-door neighbors, sometimes sharing conversations from across their bedroom windows. If that’s not romantic, then what is?
Hee Su finds out Seung Won has a crush, and he’s ready to lend a hand with his relationship expertise, but he assumes it is a girl from another class, which doesn’t seem to be the case.
The only thing that is clear is that Hee Su likes Chan Young, but what about Chan Young and Seung Won? This is going to be interesting.
