Most K-Dramas are often rooted in reality, whether it’s through relatable characters or storylines. However, there are times when a show ties in the supernatural and audiences see characters that either have special powers, come from outside the human realm, or a mixture of everything in between.
These fantastical beings live outside what is humanly possible, but captivate viewers all the same. Among the new K-Dramas on the way, there’s Netflix original “Genie, Make a Wish“, and the main character is, you guessed it, a genie.
There are still a few more days left until its premiere, so if you want to get your supernatural fix in before then, here are a few K-Dramas with supernatural male leads that you can binge.
Check them out below.
1. “Goblin”
“Goblin” is an iconic, must-watch series for any K-Drama fan. Its original run lasted from December 2016 to February 2017. The drama starred Gong Yoo, Kim GoEun, Lee DongWook, Yoo InNa, and BTOB’s Yook SungJae.
It has everything from hilarious bromance, a sweet secondary couple, a moving love story that spans across time, an unforgettable OST, and a dokkaebi (goblin) as the main lead. Just one watch is enough to show why “Goblin” remains such a legendary series.
2. “My Demon”
“My Demon” is much more recent, airing from November 2023 to January 2024. Audiences were captivated by leads Kim YouJung and Song Kang as their supernatural love story unfolded.
Viewers were mesmerized by Jung GuWon’s (Song Kang) gradual change from cold-hearted demon into smitten fool for Do DoHee (Kim YouJung). If you need to reignite your love cells, then this drama is definitely for you.
3. “Tale of The Nine Tailed”
As the title suggests, the “Tale of The Nine Tailed” (2020) revolves around Lee Yeon (Lee DongWook), a gumiho who searches for the reincarnation of his first love. Nam JiA (Cho BoAh) shares a connection with him and as the story progresses, so does their relationship.
There’s sweet romance, yearning, along with supernatural happenings to sate your hunger for all things otherworldly.
4. “Doom At Your Service”
“Doom at Your Service” (2021) tells the story of Tak DongKyung (Park BoYoung) who is diagnosed with brain cancer and her meeting with Myul Mang (Seo InGuk), the embodiment of doom.

5. “My Roommate Is a Gumiho”
Originally airing from May 2021 to July 2021, just as the title suggests, a gumiho yet again stands at the center. Appearing as leads are the charismatic Jang KiYong and lovable HyeRi.
Since the drama is in a college setting, it exudes the innocence of a campus romance that viewers cannot get enough of. Be prepared for some laughter and a swarm of butterflies while watching this drama.
6. “Heartbeat”
Move over gumihos, vampires deserve love, too. “Heartbeat” originally aired from June 2023 to August 2023 and stars Ok TaecYeon of 2PM and Won JiAn. This drama tells the story of a vampire, Son WooHyul (TaecYeon), and modern-day woman Jo InHae (Won JiAn).
“Heartbeat” is quirky, sweet, and sometimes filled with mystery. It’s lighthearted nature makes it a breeze to watch but complex enough to remain invested until the end.
7. “Bulgalsal: Immortal Souls”
If you’re looking for something a bit more serious, “Bulgalsal: Immortal Souls” should be for you. In a centuries-long attempt to free himself from his immortal curse, DanHwal (Lee JinWook) looks to take revenge on the woman who made him this way. Min SangWoon (Kwon Nara) is the reincarnation of that woman and this time around, something changes between her and DanHwal.
The series is both heartwarming and heart-wrenchingly tragic. There’s mystery, drama, and a whole lot of heartache, so come prepared if you decide to watch “Bulgalsal: Immortal Souls”
These dramas should hold you over until the premiere of “Genie, Make a Wish”. You can also save this list for after you finish the Netflix original to get more of your supernatural fix.
