This April 17, Prime Video will premiere the highly anticipated Korean coming-of-age series Absolute Value of Romance, exclusively in the Philippines and in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Combining the hilarity and awkwardness of teenage life with heartfelt, relatable storytelling, the series follows the journey of a young aspiring writer as she navigates high school, friendships, and the rollercoaster of first love.
The story centers on Yeo Eui-ju, portrayed by Kim Hyang Gi (Cashero, At Eighteen, Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds), an ordinary high school student who keeps a low profile during the day but secretly leads a double life as a daring web novelist at night. Her online work, which features adult-only content, barely gets noticed, leaving her frustrated but determined. Everything changes when four strikingly different new teachers arrive at her school, becoming both her muses and the source of unexpected chaos in her daily life—and her writing.

The ensemble cast brings a delightful mix of charm, depth, and humor to the story:
- Cha Hak Yeon (of K-pop group VIXX) stars as Ga Woo-su, the cold and enigmatic math teacher with a prodigious memory. Once a child math genius who nearly lost his vision in a life-changing accident, Woo-su now seeks a fresh start as a high school teacher—but Eui-ju’s lively presence challenges his carefully controlled world.

- Kim Jae Hyun (N.Flying) plays Noh Da-ju, a mischievous Japanese teacher and polyglot, whose playful personality and charm light up the school halls. Despite a lifelong friendship with Woo-su, the two often clash in humorous and heartwarming ways, revealing the bond of brotherhood beneath their differences.
- Son Jeong Hyuk portrays Jung Gi-jeon, a former luge athlete who retired due to injury and now serves as the school’s sports teacher. Despite his rugged exterior, Gi-jeon is endearingly clumsy and warm, quickly becoming a favorite among students. He sees hidden potential in Eui-ju and aims to nurture her into a new sports prodigy.
- Kim Dong Gyu plays Yoon Dong-ju, a soft-spoken Korean teacher whose kind and patient demeanor makes him the heart of the F4 teacher group. Though the eldest among his colleagues, his youthful looks and gentle nature often lead others to mistake him for the youngest.

The story is further enriched by a lively student cast, including Kim Sohee as Choi Go-ya, Eui-ju’s stylish and romantic best friend, and Gladys Bay as Jenny, a cheerful exchange student from Singapore whose positive energy brightens the school.
Created and directed by Lee Tae-gon (Hello My Twenties!, Hello My Twenties! 2, True to Love) and written by Lee Min-ju, the series is a collaboration between Coupang Play, Mediacorp, Good Wave Inc., and Borderless Film. It promises to capture the bittersweet humor, awkward yet relatable teenage experiences, and the emotional growth that comes with stepping into adulthood.
Absolute Value of Romance joins thousands of other hits on Prime Video, including popular Korean dramas, Amazon Originals, and anime series such as Siren’s Kiss, Spring Fever, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, and Rurouni Kenshin.
