An active idol will reportedly enlist in the Marine Corps in February 2026, just a month short of his 19th birthday.

Born on March 19, 2007, JD1 gained popularity when he appeared on variety show Mr. Trot at the age of 13. He ventured into K-Pop in 2024 under the name JD1.

JD1 had previously expressed his desire to join the Marine Corps. He even met with Marine Corps veteran singer Oh Jong Hyuk to seek advice.

In June, JD1 posted on his YouTube channel that he received his military service examination notice and met with Oh Jong Hyuk, saying, “I want to go too, so I’m here to get some advice. I want to ask a few things,” showing his proactive attitude.

JD1 said, “Since I was born a man, I want to serve honorably. My grandfather and my father did. They all went through tough military service. My father served in the 707 Special Mission Unit and often talked about the military. So I always thought I wanted to serve honorably too.

Now, he will be able to fulfill his wish when he enlists in February.
