'Actress Jisoo Is Back': BLACKPINK Member Gears for Survival in Upcoming Zombie Drama 'Newtopia'

The stills for the upcoming zombie drama "Newtopia" have been released, causing excitement among BLINKs due to the appearance of BLACKPINK member and actress Jisoo.

On December 11, Korean news outlet Newsen shared numerous photos from the drama "Newtopia" and confirmed that the series will premiere on February 7, 2025, at 8 p.m., KST.

"Newtopia" will tell the story of Jae Yoon, played by actor Park Jung Min, who is a soldier, and his girlfriend Young Joo, played by Jisoo. The narrative will revolve around the two lovers, who must survive in an apocalyptic Seoul that has been infested with zombies.

The photos also showed Park Jung Min's Jae Yoon trying to fight off the infected at a tower in Seoul, which fueled more anticipation from viewers.

On the other hand, Jisoo's Young Joo is reportedly having the action in the streets of Gangnam, where an imminent horde of infected is closing in on the survivors.

Jisoo and Park Jung Min's performances have also raised the hype for the series, as the two stars have managed to immerse everyone in their chemistry.

On social media, fans were ecstatic to see Jisoo showcase more of her actress side in the much-awaited drama.

On November 8, Jisoo's independent label BLISSOO denied any reports of the singer preparing for a solo comeback before 2024 ends.

"No decision has been made yet," the agency clarified.

It also added that Jisoo is now heavily focused on her acting projects, such as "Newtopia," "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint," and "Monthly Boyfriend."
