aespa is set to showcase a hip-hop dance vibe with their upcoming mini-album, Whiplash.
Scheduled for release on October 21st at 6 PM, the fifth mini-album features a total of six tracks, including the title track, which introduces fans to aespa’s new musical direction within the EDM genre.
The group anticipates a warm reception from music lovers worldwide.
One standout track, “Kill It,” is a hip-hop dance song characterized by its captivating synth and stunning vocals. It delivers a powerful message addressing baseless criticism through intense rap and vocal performances. The song benefits from the contributions of IMLAY, a DJ and producer from SM Entertainment’s dance music label ScreaM Records, who was involved in its composition and arrangement, enhancing its overall quality.
Another notable song, “Pink Hoodie,” also falls into the hip-hop dance category, featuring a distinctive synth sound and a lively bassline. Its lyrics convey a clever message about self-love and confidence.
Additionally, aespa will release four solo tracks from each member—”UP (KARINA Solo),” “Dopamine (GISELLE Solo),” “Bored! (NINGNING Solo),” and “Spark (WINTER Solo)”—which were performed during their second concert, SYNK: PARALLEL LINE. These tracks will be available on various music platforms starting at 6 PM on October 9th, marking the beginning of their full-fledged comeback.
