TWICE member Chaeyoung has reportedly begun meeting with other entertainment agencies as discussions over her contract renewal with JYP Entertainment continue.
According to multiple industry insiders on July 14, Chaeyoung recently held meetings with other agencies regarding her solo activities. Details regarding a potential contract or specific negotiations have not been disclosed.
The reports have sparked speculation that Chaeyoung may be looking to expand her individual career while continuing activities as a member of TWICE. Known for her distinct artistic style, songwriting, rap, and interest in fashion and visual arts, Chaeyoung has long established a unique identity within the group.

Because of this, many believe she may be seeking greater freedom over her personal projects. Rather than leaving JYP entirely, industry insiders say one option being discussed is splitting her contracts, keeping TWICE’s group activities under JYP while signing with another agency for solo promotions.
The arrangement would mirror BLACKPINK’s current structure, where members remain under YG Entertainment for group activities while managing their individual careers through separate companies.
Chaeyoung isn’t the only member linked to outside agencies. Reports previously claimed that Tzuyu would not be renewing her contract with JYP Entertainment, while Jeongyeon was also spotted meeting with another agency, where her older sister, actress Gong Seung Yeon, is signed.
As a result, many in the industry are watching closely to see whether TWICE will adopt a similar “group contract, separate solo contracts” model.
The group, which debuted in 2015, previously renewed as a full team with JYP in 2022. The current negotiations mark the members’ second contract renewal.
In response to the reports, JYP Entertainment stated:
“TWICE is currently in the process of discussing contract renewals. We will provide an update once details have been finalized.”
