BABYMONSTER is turning up the heat this summer with their much-anticipated comeback song “HOT SAUCE,” set to drop on July 1 at 6 PM KST.
The pre-release track teases a bold and nostalgic twist, drawing inspiration from the vibrant energy of 1980s old-school hip-hop, reimagined with a fresh, modern flair.
On June 23, YG Entertainment unveiled the official title poster on their blog, accompanied by the catchy phrase, “I’m like ‘HOT SAUCE.’” The members instantly drew attention with their playful expressions and free-spirited energy, amplified by a vivid, retro-inspired styling palette. Their use of primary colors, classic streetwear elements, and confident poses perfectly channels the spirit of ‘80s hip-hop while showcasing each member’s distinct personality.
A standout feature in the poster is the electric signboard-style logo set against a clean white backdrop. Its eye-catching, colorful design hints at a dynamic summer anthem brimming with energy, one that’s as fiery and flavorful as its title suggests. With their growing reputation for pulling off diverse concepts effortlessly, fans are eager to see how BABYMONSTER will evolve their image once again.
The upcoming track also carries a personal touch. YG’s General Producer Yang Hyun Suk previously shared, “We created this song as a summer gift—something fun and full of flavor,” hinting at its addictive, late-’80s hip-hop sound that promises to bring a refreshing retro twist to the group’s discography.
This comeback marks the start of a busy season for BABYMONSTER, with a second single slated for September and a mini-album in October. Their energetic promotions for “HOT SAUCE” will be carried out with six members—Luca, Parita, Asa, Ahyeon, Laura, and Chiquita—while Rami continues her recovery. YG stated, “Rami’s health remains our top priority. We ask for your understanding and will continue to support both her recovery and the group’s activities.”
With BABYMONSTER consistently proving they’re unafraid to reinvent themselves, all eyes are on their July 1 comeback to see just how spicy this new era will be.
