“Big 3” Girl Group Star Commemorates Charlie Kirk With Controversial Post, Triggers Outrage

After sharing a post commemorating Charlie Kirk, Wonder Girls‘ former leader and vocalist Sunye sparked major controversy among Korean netizens.

Sunye shared a clip of Kirk’s wife speaking about him after the American right-wing political activist was killed last week, on September 10.

Alongside the video, the Wonder Girls’ star also added her own caption which included a Bible verse. As a result her post exploded online and became the center of heavy backlash.

The choice to publicly honor Kirk and the use of the Bible verse has caused backlash. Many netizens pointed out Kirk’s controversial reputation, particularly regarding his views on race and politics, and questioned why a public figure would openly pay tribute to him.
