A recent post on Pann has gained significant attention after BLACKPINK Jennie’s alleged manager was caught interacting with posts that some believe undermine the other members of the group.

The controversy began when a post claimed that Jeremy Erlich — who is reportedly managing Jennie — had retweeted a review from Joshua Minsoo Kim, a well-known critic for Pitchfork.
Wow, Jennie’s manager is openly putting down the other BLACKPINK members. Lol.
— Viral Pann post

The tweet praised Jennie’s latest album, Ruby, calling it not only the best release from a BLACKPINK soloist but also one of the strongest albums from a K-Pop soloist in general. His review emphasized the album’s high production value, referencing producers like Dem Jointz, Mike Will Made It, and El Guincho.
It’s actually crazy how good JENNIE’s Ruby is. It’s not just the best album from a BLACKPINK soloist, but one of the best albums from a K-pop soloist ever (esp on a non-Big 4 label). It makes sense though—production from Dem Jointz, Mike Will Made It, El Guincho… like c’mon.

The viral Pann post included screenshots that pointed to Erlich’s connection with Jennie. The alleged manager reposted Jennie’s content on his account on several occasions. A screenshot of his work profile also claims that Erlich is indeed managing Jennie.

While the retweet itself may not seem controversial, the Pann post pointed out that the same critic had previously made negative comments about Lisa’s album, calling it a “bad album” and even criticizing her singing abilities. This led to accusations that Erlich was indirectly supporting negative sentiments about the other members.

I must retract my statement. Lillies have informed me that LISA enjoys singing and is actually just bad at it! I have full faith that her next album will get at least a 5.3, she just needs to work on her hooks, lyricism, rapping, track sequencing, beat selection, originality, https://t.co/AkvfRIax8Z

The post quickly went viral, surpassing 90,000 views. However, not everyone agreed with the criticism thrown at Jennie’s manager. Many argued that the retweet was simply a show of support for Jennie’s work and that Erlich did not necessarily agree with Kim’s other review of Lisa’s album.
On the other hand, some believe that the manager should behave more professionally and avoid stirring up unnecessary drama between fandoms that are known to be super passionate.

- “How is that a statement putting down the other members? Lol. The account that got retweeted is from a well-known critic, and from their perspective, Jennie’s album was the best among the BLACKPINK members. Lol. Seriously, some people don’t understand English at all. They’re just looking for something to complain about because Jennie’s album is doing so well. Lol.”
- “Jennie’s doing well, and the crazies are losing it again. Lol.”
- “Are you stupid? Lol. Do you think critics are K-pop stans who have to say nice things about everyone? Quit whining like a little kid.”
- “Having someone like that as her manager must be reassuring.”
- “I find it more annoying that Jennie’s manager retweeted that review. It just seems like they’re trying to stir things up.”
