BLACKPINK’s debut definitely sparked huge reactions as the first YG girl group since 2NE1 and had a vibe different from a lot of the groups at the time.

Recently, Jennie spoke about her debut days during an appearance on You Quiz on the Block.

During the episode, the hosts explained that BLACKPINK always had cool vibes, whether it was the group name or the individual members’ names.

Yet, Jennie added that she didn’t remember much from her debut days.

The idol explained, “They didn’t have us do a lot, and we mostly stayed in our dorm,” with it seemingly lasting a year into the debut.

Yoo Jae Suk joked it was to keep the mysterious vibe of the group, which Jennie replied with, “But being mysterious was so boring.”

Jennie’s words went viral following the episode; netizens shared their anger towards YG Entertainment. It is no secret that the company has been hit with backlash for the way of promoting artists, and it seems like Jennie confirmed that this applied to them, especially in the earlier days.
