Rising boy group BOYNEXTDOOR has amped up anticipation for their upcoming comeback by dropping a massive batch of concept content.
At 10 PM on the 29th, the group released the ‘Play’ version concept photos and film for their 5th mini album The Action, on official SNS, thrilling fans with a whopping 27 group and individual images and videos all at once.
Each member showcases distinct cinematic flair, posing like stars of their own blockbuster in front of personalized billboards. Sungho stuns with a calm and relaxed vibe highlighted by blonde hair, while Liu contrasts a fierce gaze with his eccentric billboard image. Myung Jaehyun channels an action movie lead, exuding cool charisma. Taesan offers a dreamy, hazy aura, while Lee Han captivates with surreal visuals. Meanwhile, Unhak draws attention with a mix of freshness and poise.
The concept film further fuels curiosity. Against a bold “THE ACTION” billboard backdrop, the members receive a cryptic message—“I saw the movie you were in. I really liked it”—before their striking visuals take center stage. The cinematic approach ties directly into the album’s film-inspired promotions.
Ahead of release, BOYNEXTDOOR has been teasing fans with creative, movie-themed content. On the 26th, they shared a vlog-style video documenting their trip to Chicago, USA, where they appeared at the Disintegration Film Festival alongside “TEAM THE ACTION,” the crew behind the album’s concept film. The first wave of teasers already showcased cinematic settings in exotic locations, further solidifying the project’s big-screen atmosphere.
Set to drop on October 20 at 6 PM KST, The Action is described as an album brimming with the group’s desire for growth, with lyrics that reflect their journey of becoming “better versions of themselves.” With BOYNEXTDOOR’s steady rise and proven chart power, expectations are soaring for what the six members will deliver next.
