Clips of BTS members seemingly imitating V’s well-known “TATA mic” expression have sparked allegations of mockery among international K-Pop fans.
The allegations began after netizens resurfaced a clip from Jimin and Jungkook’s joint Weverse live broadcast this June, shortly after they completed their military service. In the video, both members can be seen making what appears to be an exaggerated version of V’s expression before laughing together.

Known as V’s “TATA mic” face, the expression first originated several years ago when V playfully tried to trick BTS’s staff into giving him a microphone accessory designed after his BT21 character, TATA. V made the face to disguise that he was only pretending to have won the microphone as a prize, in an attempt to convince staff to hand it over.
The expression quickly went viral with fans, and since then, it has become one of V’s staple acts.

Many K-Pop fans are interpreting these moments as members mocking or poking fun at V’s signature expression, debating whether it’s simply playful teasing between friends or crossing a line.
