BTS leader RM will deliver a keynote speech at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit, an event held alongside the APEC leaders’ meeting.
RM is scheduled to speak on October 29 at the Gyeongju Arts Center on the second day of the summit. His speech will center on “The Cultural and Creative Industries of the APEC Region and the Soft Power of K-Culture.” The address will take place from 3.05pm to 3.15pm (KST), lasting around ten minutes. While the exact content has not been disclosed, it is expected that RM will draw from his experiences as the leader of BTS, a group that has elevated K-pop’s global influence, to discuss the cultural significance and power of Korean content.
This marks the first time a K-Pop artist has been invited as a speaker at the APEC CEO Summit. Given his fluency in English, RM is expected to deliver the speech in English before an audience of global business leaders. Netizens have high expectations for him.
| theqoo- Oh, he suits it kinda. Feels like he’ll do well.
- I can’t wait because he always has been doing well [at this sort of thing].
- This is so impressive. Looking forward to it.
- Wow, in front of CEOs? This is insane.
- I always feel like people should read many books whenever I see him, but I can never get myself to actually do it LOL. I bet I’ll be floored by him this time too.
RM previously made headlines for his powerful speeches at the United Nations General Assembly in 2018 and again in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when he delivered a message of hope to the global community.
