The photo is from a few months ago, when it was announced that Suga had helped to establish the Min Yoongi Treatment Center at the Severance Hospital in the Seodaemun district of Seoul, along with a huge donation of ₩5.00 billion KRW (about $3.60 million USD).

BTS’s Suga Makes History With The Largest Donation Ever

Some netizens were very negative, seemingly believing it was all an attempt to make Suga look good amid his controversy, explaining that donating didn’t seem sincere, with others saying that he should leave the group because of what they thought was a scandal.

  • A drunk driver is literally a potential murderer.
  • Just hurry up and leave [the group].
  • Leave together with Jimin, hand in hand.
  • Wow…..
  • But there are still so many ARMYs supporting all 7 on TheQoo. I saw before and was shocked lol. Guess that’s why he keeps promoting.
  • Withdrawal, let’s go.
  • If he had retired and donated 5 billion won, at least that would’ve seemed sincere. But this just feels like a ploy for forgiveness. Makes me bitter, like “is money everything?”

Yet, many fans defended Suga, explaining that people who had done worse are still carrying on in the industry, adding that while people are criticizing Suga, he is trying to do good with his donations, and that it was a huge sum of money.

  • I mean, even people who got caught 2–3 times are still filming movies and promoting just fine. So I don’t really see donating as a bad thing.
  • What matters is reflecting on your wrongs, not people blindly yelling at him to retire. Whatever the intention, he did donate… And honestly, it’s a fact that Suga contributes more to society than haters do.
  • A ₩5.00 billion KRW (about $3.60 million USD)… wow.
  • I’m not even a fan, but I feel like the standards are harsher just because it’s BTS. There are plenty of people who shamelessly make comebacks after scandals. (Not that I think those people did well either…) But considering it wasn’t even a car, just an electric scooter for a short distance, I always think the criticism is too much.

Many netizens are supporting Suga and continue to praise his charity efforts.
