BTS superstar Jung Kook is set to return to Disney+ this December 3 with an exclusive new docuseries titled JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL THE ORIGINAL.
This three-part series dives deep into Jung Kook’s evolution from his role as a member of global pop sensation BTS to his journey as a solo artist. It offers fans a personal look behind the scenes as he launches his debut solo album, GOLDEN. The docuseries, filmed over eight months, follows Jung Kook as he records, performs, and collaborates with some of the biggest producers in the industry across New York, London, and Seoul.
This series is an extended cut of the theatrical version, with nearly 55 additional minutes of footage. Viewers will see special performances of his songs “Still With You,” “Closer To You” (featuring Major Lazer), and “Shot Glass of Tears” at his GOLDEN Live On Stage show. Along with these exclusive performances, the docuseries includes interviews with Jung Kook’s dancers, behind-the-scenes insights from his promotional tours in the UK and New York City, and candid moments that reveal his dedication and passion as he establishes himself as a solo artist.
The entire three-part series will be released on Disney+ on December 3, joining an impressive lineup of BTS content on the platform. Fans can also stream BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star, a comprehensive docuseries covering the group’s first decade together; BTS: PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA, a 4K concert film from their 2021 performance at Los Angeles’ Sofi Stadium; SUGA: Road to D-DAY, a documentary chronicling SUGA’s global journey for musical inspiration; j-hope IN THE BOX, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of j-hope’s debut album Jack In The Box; and IN THE SOOP: Friendcation, a travel reality series featuring BTS’s V alongside popular Korean actors Park Seo-joon, Choi Woo-shik, Park Hyung-sik, and musician Peakboy as they embark on an unforgettable trip.
JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL THE ORIGINAL will also join Disney+’s growing selection of acclaimed Korean content. Subscribers can explore other recent additions like Tyrant, about a stolen weapon in a high-stakes scenario involving the US and South Korean governments; A Shop For Killers, a thrilling tale of a girl targeted by assassins; and Moving, which follows South Korean special agents who protect their super-powered children from exploitation.
With the premiere of JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL THE ORIGINAL, fans will gain a closer look at Jung Kook’s creative process and his journey as a solo artist, marking an exciting moment for both his fans and Korean content on Disney+. Stream all three episodes exclusively on Disney+ starting December 3.
