After it was announced that Seunghan would return to activities with RIIZE, fans against his return began various protests.

One way fans protested was through “death” wreaths sent to SM Entertainment. Over a few days, the number of wreaths outside the company reached the 100s and were not removed until after the announcement that Seunghan was no longer a member of RIIZE.

Fans of BTS demanding the removal of Suga seemingly took inspiration from protests against Seunghan.

Following Suga‘s DUI scandal, many fans of BTS called for his removal from the group, holding some protests when the news first broke.

On October 20th, similar wreaths were placed outside of HYBE, and monitors monitored them to ensure they were not damaged.

After several hours, however, the wreaths were collected and removed, with fans reporting that they would be placed again over the next few days because protest permits had been given.

wreaths are GONE. thanks to armys who worked hard and went there personally. yoongi has us and we are NOT leaving ❤️

edit: their time was up. we are still not done, keep supporting yoongi🫡❤️#YoongiNeverWalksAlone pic.twitter.com/NDrlBVGGcu

some answers about the wreaths:

-they are legal, they have a permit police confirmed this. hybe cannot take them down bc they are on the public street as a permitted demonstration.

-if you tamper with them you WILL be arrested, police have given warnings to army on site.

While the wreaths will return, many questioned why the ones protesting Seunghan’s removal were allowed to stay continuously without any action by SM Entertainment. Some have even blamed SM Entertainment’s apparent inaction for “encouraging” similar protests.

Bighit removed that death wreath to Suga immediately, while SM didn't and even let them there in 2 days @SMTOWNGLOBAL
I hope you get sued for this

I blame @SMTOWNGLOBAL for this shit.
Since y'all failed to protect Seunghan, now different artists (in this case, Suga from BTS) got funeral wreaths because toxic fans are encouraged.

sm justified the actions of people sending funeral wreaths to seunghan and it’s already spread to other idols what the fuck. pic.twitter.com/BVe8idMi2W

it is their fault. sm opened a precedent for this to happen. it made these people feel like all it takes to get their way is to send funeral wraths to a company’s building. a lot more idols will suffer this in the future. revolting. https://t.co/Vv3M9itpOP
