Former WINNER member-turned-soloist Nam Taehyun‘s attempt at his return to K-Pop has since been trampled.

Despite comedian Yoon Hyung Bin‘s hopes of turning Hongdae into a “K-Pop mecca,” K-Pop fans were not into the idea of the disgraced idol with a history of drug abuse making a stage comeback.
Controversial K-Pop Idol To Return To Stage—Backed By “The Next Bang Si Hyuk”
On May 4, 2025 (KST), a representative from the “K-Pop Week In Hongdae” told Insight that “Nam Taehyun’s concert has been canceled.”
Nam Taehyun was scheduled to perform on May 6 at West Bridge Live Hall in Mapo-gu, Seoul, as part of Yoon Hyung Bin’s “K-Pop Everyday” event. This would have been Nam Taehyun’s first opportunity to face the audience in person since releasing his single “At the Edge of the Night” back in January.
Yoon Hyung Bin explained during a press conference that he had suggested this opportunity to Nam Taehyun as a chance to reflect on his past and make a fresh start. However, despite these efforts, the performance was ultimately canceled, and all traces of the concert have been wiped from the idol’s Instagram.

I understand how sensitive the matter is. But I did some research and saw that he’s been doing a lot of good deeds recently, and online sentiment was more positive than I expected. When I met with him personally, I could tell he was truly remorseful and wanted to perform again. I wanted to give him a chance. He was concerned that his participation might make others uncomfortable, but I felt he should at least greet his remaining fans. That’s why I proposed a small-scale performance, and that’s how it came together.
