Chen Brings Soulful Vocals and Playful Moments to Fans at 'Beyond the DOOR' Fancon in KL

Talented vocalist Chen brought an unforgettable night to Mega Star Arena as he returned to Malaysia for his solo fan concert, "Beyond the DOOR." Fans gathered eagerly on Friday night, thrilled to witness Chen’s powerful vocals and charming interactions, making the evening a memorable one despite the artist’s candid revelation about the challenges of planning the event. 

During the fan-con, Chen shared that the preparation was a whirlwind, with tight timelines and difficulties in securing the venue. However, with determination and support, he managed to make it happen for his Malaysian fans, expressing his gratitude for the one-night show at Mega Star Arena. 

The night opened with Chen's smooth, soulful ballads, beginning with tracks from his latest mini-album Door—including “Empty,” “Dandelion,” “Remember,” and “I Don’t Even Mind.” His calming voice filled the venue, setting a tranquil and heartwarming tone as fans were captivated by each lyric and melody.

The show took a lighthearted turn with a playful game segment called “CHEN-LLENGE.” Here, Chen had to guess the correct lyrics of various songs, including his own tracks and even songs by fellow CBX members Baekhyun and Xiumin. To the audience’s delight, Chen humorously struggled with the challenge, frequently turning to fans for hints and adorably apologizing to Baekhyun and Xiumin when he missed the mark. "Sorry Baekhyun, I'll get it right next time. Xiumin ahh, will you forgive me?" The segment had fans laughing and cheering, adding a relaxed and interactive vibe to the evening. 

Following the game, Chen continued to enchant the audience with more of his beloved songs, performing fan favorites like “Playlist,” “Fall in Love Again,” “Hold You Tight,” “Beautiful Goodbye,” “Love You,” “Shall We?,” and “Starlight.” As a special treat, he even performed “Don’t Remember,” the soulful OST from the drama Romance in the House, showcasing his ability to convey deep emotion through his singing. 

In an encore that fans eagerly awaited, Chen returned to the stage to perform “Everytime,” his OST from Descendants of the Sun, before expressing heartfelt thanks to his Malaysian fans. He promised to come back with an extended two-day concert next time, a declaration that was met with cheers and applause. He closed the night with “Best Luck,” another popular OST from It’s Okay, That’s Love, ending the concert on a high note.
