Meet CMDM — the six-member group breaking the mold with honest storytelling, equal collaboration, and a sound that’s evolving every step of the way.
CMDM made their debut on April 27, 2023, with the single album Back To The Future, introducing a refreshing energy to the music scene. The six-member group—ByungHoon, HyunHah, Junhyoung, Heeju, NoYul, and Seungho—quickly established their identity through sincerity, emotion, and a commitment to making music that connects. Rather than following a traditional structure, CMDM operates without a leader, instead emphasizing equal collaboration and mutual respect for each member’s creativity and individuality. Their first digital single, “Our Story,” released in November 2023, offered listeners a deeper look into their emotional range and storytelling abilities.
In the two years since their debut, CMDM has consistently demonstrated their dedication and growth, not only through their evolving sound but also through live performances that have taken them beyond Korea. Their concerts in Japan sparked an especially warm response, reflecting the group’s ability to move audiences through their music and presence. Despite having five extroverts and one introvert, CMDM balances their personalities with a shared goal: to communicate honestly through music and make space for each member’s voice to be heard.
Their newest release, the second digital single “Delcalcomanie,” dropped on May 8, 2025, marking a turning point in their artistic journey. Built around jazzy grooves and expressive instrumentation, the song draws inspiration from the life of Van Gogh, capturing the quiet, often overlooked struggles of self-doubt. In this exclusive interview, CMDM shares the story behind Delcalcomanie, how they channeled vulnerability into sound, and what this release means for them as artists and as a team.
*Disclaimer: SeungHo was not available for this comeback.

HKP: Congratulations on the release of your second digital single, “Delcalcomanie”! What was most exciting or meaningful for you about bringing this song to life?
CMDM: All of the members loved this song from the very first time we heard it, so we were really excited after recording it. Heeju and NoYul also created the choreography for “Decalcomanie,” which made the experience even more meaningful for all of us.
HKP: “Delcalcomanie” explores the feeling of self-doubt—something many people face. What message do you hope to convey to fans who may be experiencing similar emotions?
CMDM: Everyone experiences moments of self-doubt or self-pity. But it’s in those exact moments that you need to believe in yourself the most. Stop listening to others or the haters—just believe in yourself and keep moving forward.
HKP: The song has such a smooth and groovy sound. What inspired CMDM to take this new musical direction?
CMDM: We wanted to show a different concept with this song compared to our debut track, “Already Go Ready.” From now on, we’ll be exploring a variety of concepts in our music, so please look forward to what’s coming next!
HyunHah
HKP: If “Delcalcomanie” had a color, what would it be and why?
CMDM: The overall mood of “Decalcomanie” reminds us of an old jazz bar, so we feel like its color is similar to that of whiskey.
HKP: We heard “Delcalcomanie” was inspired by Van Gogh’s life. What part of his story or emotions connected most with the group?
CMDM: During his life, Van Gogh wasn’t recognized by others, but he kept painting with dedication. Like him, we in CMDM may face similar moments, but we continue moving forward with passion toward our goals.
HKP: How was the recording or creative process for this track different from your past singles like “Our Story”?
CMDM: This was our third release, so we felt more confident during the recording process. It was also our first time creating the entire choreography from scratch.
HKP: CMDM doesn’t have an official leader, which is unique! How do you manage teamwork and decision-making as a group?
CMDM: We always start by sharing all of our opinions and listening carefully to each other. Then, we choose the best ideas from those discussions.
JunHyoung
HKP: Your Japanese debut and overseas concerts have been a big success—what moments stood out most from meeting international fans?
CMDM: The moment we perform our first live show after a new release is always the best. We feel a great deal of energy and emotion every time.
HKP: CMDM has a mix of MBTI types with five members as E and one as I. How do you think these different personalities influence the way you work and interact as a group?
CMDM: Although we all have different MBTI types, we’ve been together for so long that it doesn’t really matter to us. When we talk and hang out, some members even seem more like extroverts. We feel like family and are truly comfortable when we’re together.
HKP: Since your debut, how do you think CMDM has evolved musically and emotionally?
CMDM: Since our debut, we’ve grown closer to our music through many live shows and practices. Because of this, we feel emotionally connected to both our songs and our performances.
HKP: You’ve been a team for over two years. What’s something you’ve learned about each other that still surprises you?
CMDM: Two years might seem long or short to others, but as we discover new things about each other, it feels like we’re holding on tightly. This strengthens our teamwork even more.
HKP: Looking ahead, what are CMDM’s goals for the rest of 2025—musically, personally, or as a team?
CMDM: We want to spend much more time with our fans, Dahlias, through our shows and concerts featuring new songs and future releases.
HKP: Lastly, please leave a message for your fans reading this.
CMDM: We will continue to develop our skills both musically and physically through hard work. Please keep supporting us with your love and attention. Thank you always!
