ATEEZ is currently on tour in Europe, and as part of the VIP package, there is the opportunity for fans to have a send-off event.

A clip has gained attention after an interaction with Mingi. In the clip, when Mingi was approaching the OP, they said, “Jumpscare,” and the idol seemed confused and concerned by the phrase.

Netizens shared their concerns about the comment. Although “jumpscare” is a pretty common term and doesn’t always mean something negative, it might not be as easy to understand for someone who doesn’t have English as their first language, especially if they hear the word “scare” stand out the most.

Some appreciated that the OP probably didn’t mean it negatively but that it could be taken out of context and seen negatively. Others just found it rude, and there seems to be a pattern of Mingi receiving uncomfortable and rude comments.

On X, a fan even pointed out that the way Mingi kept asking about the comment seemingly showed he was worried that it meant he was scary.

The way he kept asking Booba if "scared" really meant "scared (in Korean)" 😭😭 The atiny could've mean jumpscare in a "ahh can't believe they're really here" type way but the way Mingi was so worried they actually meant he was scary breaks my heart 🥹 https://t.co/Z2v8ePssXa
