In an “opening video” played at the “2025 Dingo Music Killing Voice” concert, Dingo Music used an old photo that included former member Yong Junhyung, who was removed from the group after it was revealed that he had received and viewed illegally filmed videos from Jung Joon Young, a central figure in the Burning Sun scandal.

Following a police investigation, Yong Junhyung left the group in 2019.

On the other hand, the photo was missing Yoon Dujun (Yoon Doojoon), the leader of Highlight, who was serving his military duty at the time. Fans who attended the concert and watched the video play on the big screens were completely taken aback by the inexcusable mix-up.

During today’s opening video, an image that included a former member of Highlight who has left the team was mistakenly shown. We sincerely apologize to the audience for this error.

…it has since issued a more formal apology via its social media accounts as of October 18, 2025 (KST), admitting fault and acknowledging that “no circumstances can justify this oversight.” Dingo Music promised to “strengthen [their] internal review and approval procedures for all artist-related materials to ensure that such an incident never occurs again.”

The Korean version of the apology also included some additional explanation for why the mix-up happened:

“Hello, this is Dingo Music.

During the opening video of the Killing Voice concert held on October 18, 2025 (Saturday), an error occurred in which an image including a former member of the group Highlight—who has already left the team—was shown during the process of introducing the group’s lineup.

This was clearly a mistake on the part of Dingo Music, which oversaw the concert production, and we deeply apologize for releasing the video without sufficient prior review.

Above all, we sincerely apologize to the members of Highlight, their agency, and the fans for the pain and discomfort this has caused.

Although the concert’s production schedule on the day was extremely tight, we fully understand that no circumstance can exempt us from responsibility. As the creators and distributors of the content, Dingo Music takes full responsibility.

We recognize the seriousness of this incident and will strengthen our review and approval process for all artist-related materials in future productions to prevent similar issues from recurring.

We once again extend our deepest apologies to the members of Highlight and their fans, who must have been deeply hurt by this event. We also sincerely apologize to all attendees for the concern we have caused.

Dingo Music will take full responsibility to ensure that artists’ valuable performances are never compromised due to our shortcomings.”

At the venue, member Yang Yoseop also addressed the video and asked the fans to be forgiving…

I just want to address the fans for a second. Before the performance started, there was a small mistake in the video, huh? But everyone, please know that the staff came to us several times to sincerely apologize, saying they were really, truly sorry.

Of course, I know that it’s going to feel unacceptable… But we’ve all been there before, right? Sometimes, things get so hectic and… you know? Things happen, don’t they? We believe it was an honest mistake. So, please show them mercy and let’s respond with understanding and patience.

Also, Dingo has always taken good care of us and created amazing content for us, so… We believe they’ll continue to do so in the future as well.

— Yang Yoseop

…but, of course, disappointment the disappointment still hits hard.

  • “You should also apologize to the member who got left out. Shouldn’t you double-check the video before the concert starts…?”
  • “An error? Huh? Did ChatGPT generate that image or something? LOL. Calling it a mistake, wtf? It felt way too intentional and unprofessional. As someone who also works a full-time job, this is even more upsetting. Dingo isn’t a small start-up company. How do you even ‘accidentally’ use the wrong photo of the performing artist? Should’ve just went with what you used on the ticketing page.”
  • “You have one job and you still can’t do it right. This is not an elementary school project or homework you can push off. You made the concert video on the same day?! LMAO.  So what exactly is Dingo going to do to take responsibility for this? This isn’t some small gig; it’s a major concert. Why wasn’t the video put together earlier?”
  • “Even if the video was made on the same day, you should’ve at least double-checked it properly. On a day that was supposed to be fun, so many of us fans ended up angry. Dingo’s head producer and whoever made the video need to come out and personally apologize to our members and fans. You might say it was just a mistake, but it hurt a lot of people.”
  • “Are you kidding both Highlight and the fans right now? And how are you planning to apologize to Yoon Dujun? Rewrite your apology properly and with sincerity!!!”
  • “Make it make sense… You used a picture with a former member who literally left the group shattered, but then left out an active member who’s still in it? What on earth were you thinking? LOL.”
