Disgraced chaebol heiress of the Namyang Dairy Products, Hwang Hana (Hwang Ha Na), who is better known to K-Pop fans as the troublemaker ex-fiancée of former TVXQ member Park Yoochun, has finally been caught by authorities after a year on the run in Cambodia over charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.

On December 24, 2025 (KST), the Gwacheon Police announced that Hwang Hana had been arrested and now under investigation after disappearing in Thailand around December 2023. The heiress was initially under investigation in July 2023 for allegedly administering methamphetamine to her acquaintances in Gangnam, Seoul.

Hwang Hana remained elusive, despite an Interpol notice being issued and her passport being invalidated. While her lavish lifestyle in Cambodia, while being “on the run,” sparked massive outrage, Hwang Hana eventually expressed her intention to turn herself in—and the police traveled to Cambodia to coordinate with the local consul for securing her custody. She was arrested aboard a Korean aircraft at Phnom Penh International Airport.

This is not Hwang Hana’s first drug-related offense. She previously received a suspended sentence in 2015 for methamphetamine use. However, while supposedly in self-reflection,  she became involved with another drug scandal again in 2020, serving a prison term of one year and eight months.
