Disney+ has announced a 2027 exclusive release for The Miracles of the Namiya General Store, a live-action adaptation of Keigo Higashino’s The Miracles of the Namiya General Store, expanding its growing slate of Korean-led original content.
The story follows three young men on the run after a failed crime who take refuge in an abandoned shop once known for offering life advice.
There, they begin receiving mysterious letters from people seeking guidance—only to discover their replies are somehow reaching recipients decades in the past, setting off an emotional chain of interconnected stories across time.
The film stars Ryu Seung Ryong as store owner Go Min-joong, alongside Kim Hye Yoon, Moon Sang Min, and Lee Chae Min. The trio of fugitives is played by Kang You-seok, Park Jung-woo, and Kim Seong-jeong.
Directed by Park Young-ju and produced by The LAMP Ltd, the film is based on the bestselling novel, which has sold more than 13 million copies worldwide.
The project joins Disney+’s expanding Korean lineup, which includes titles such as A Shop for Killers Season 2, Made in Korea Season 2, and recent releases including Tempest, The Manipulated, Low Life, and Light Shop.
Further details on the film’s release are expected at a later date.
