EPEX Returns with an Empowering New Chapter in its latest full-length album.
Get ready to dive back into the compelling world of EPEX as they unveil their highly anticipated second full-length album, Youth Chapter 2: YOUTH DEFICIENCY, released today, November 5! This latest installment continues the riveting narrative set forth in their April 2024 release, Youth Chapter 1: YOUTH DAYS, which explored the beautiful chaos of growing up and falling in love through the lens of youthful perspectives.
In Youth Chapter 2: YOUTH DEFICIENCY, EPEX bravely confronts the universal struggles many young people face—acknowledging their shortcomings and making crucial decisions to overcome them. This album serves as a heartfelt embrace for anyone grappling with the challenges of growing up.
As KEUM from EPEX shares, “We poured our hearts into making this album a true reflection of our growth. We aimed to connect with our listeners on a deeper level by crafting a vibrant stage that showcases not just our performance but also the nuanced emotions we want to convey. We can’t wait for you to experience this second chapter of youth with us!”
MU adds, “Our journey through youth has always been about expressing the ‘EPEX of today.’ This album embodies our sincerity, and I hope it comforts all listeners navigating their youthful experiences. We’re dedicated to growing even more and are filled with gratitude for our supportive fans. Thank you!”
This incredible album features eight fresh tracks, including the title track, “UNIVERSE,” which boasts an infectious shuffle beat and straightforward melody and celebrates the choice to make someone your entire universe. My Girl, a pre-release gem unveiled on October 14th, offers a groovy R&B vibe that captures the delightful awkwardness of falling in love and mustering the courage to express those feelings.
The enchanting “낭만소녀 (1997)” invites listeners to ponder the mysteries of an intriguing girl, while “It is what it is” delivers an upbeat reminder that imperfection is perfectly okay. “Attosecond” reflects on the fleeting nature of youth, emphasizing how it can vanish in the blink of an eye. Meanwhile, “경이로운 일상 (Wonderful)” mixes drum and bass to celebrate the small yet miraculous moments that fill our daily lives. The poignant “잃어버린 것들에 대하여 (Closer)” addresses the loss of youth and the bittersweet growth that follows. Finally, the album wraps up with “Loner,” a hopeful anthem reminding us that we are never truly alone in our solitude and that embracing these feelings can be liberating.
