With ROMANTIC YOUTH, EPEX reflects on love and growing pains in the final chapter of their Youth series.
C9 Entertainment’s rising K-pop boy group EPEX has officially closed the book on their youth-themed trilogy with the release of their first full-length album, Youth Chapter 3 : ROMANTIC YOUTH. Following Youth Chapter 1 : YOUTH DAYS and Youth Chapter 2 : YOUTH DEFICIENCY, this final chapter marks the emotional culmination of a story that has unfolded throughout 2024.
While YOUTH DEFICIENCY delved into the struggles, emotional gaps, and uncertainties of adolescence, ROMANTIC YOUTH reflects a more mature perspective—accepting those imperfections and embracing what lies ahead. The album seeks to comfort fans as they navigate love, change, and self-discovery in their own lives.
“Since this album is the last chapter of the Youth trilogy, I worked on it with even more affection,” shared member MU. “We hope you look forward to what EPEX will present after ROMANTIC YOUTH, and please listen to it a lot, as it is filled with great songs.”
Youth Chapter 3 : ROMANTIC YOUTH features eight tracks, each representing a new chapter in the journey of youth:

“아무 일도 없었다 (Waffle)” opens the album with a ratchet-style track about standing firm in the face of adversity, untouched by hollow comfort or outside interference.

“낭만 터지는 (Bang)” follows with explosive hybrid rock energy, channeling the fiery courage of taking bold risks while young.

“Picasso,” the pre-release single, draws inspiration from the famed artist—urging listeners to break the mold and reinvent themselves at every turn.

“눈물나게 고마워 (Grateful to Tears),” the emotional title track, is a poignant pop ballad blending acoustic and rock elements to capture the bittersweet beauty of farewells.

“늑대와 춤을 (Dances with Wolves)” offers a playful take on love at first sight.

“별 헤는 밤 (Morning to Midnight)” likens deep affection to the starlit night sky in a warm, mid-tempo groove.

“고래낙하 (Whale Fall)” paints a poetic image of transformation, comparing the fall of a whale to how youth’s end can spark new beginnings.

“Pluto” closes the album with a hopeful anthem about chasing the impossible, driven by youthful curiosity and resilience.
