Kuala Lumpur, August 11, 2025 — Pavilion KL’s Dadi Cinema became the spotlight for the Law and the City media press conference, featuring lead actors Lee Jong Suk and Mun KaYoung, alongside emcee Munaa. The event was held exclusively for invited media to discuss their experience filming the drama.
Lee Jong Suk, who played Ahn Joo-Young, and Mun KaYoung, who portrayed Kang Hee-Ji, began the session by introducing themselves and expressing thanks to those present.
When asked about their impressions of Malaysia after attending the red-carpet event the night before, Mun KaYoung shared that so many people had come to watch, and it made her feel a little nervous. Lee Jong Suk described the experience as “really amazing,” adding that it was his first time in the country, that he had enjoyed the trip, and that he would leave with great memories.
Mun KaYoung explained that she took on the role because of Lee Jong Suk, the great script, and the fellow actors involved. Lee Jong Suk added that he had never played such a role in daily life and wanted to show fans what it would be like, calling the opportunity “great.”
Neither star had a specific filming ritual. Mun KaYoung said she simply practiced a lot because of the script, while Lee Jong Suk focused on collaboration with other actors. In their personal routines, Mun KaYoung liked listening to music while commuting to work and was recently obsessed with Justin Bieber’s new album. Lee Jong Suk preferred working in a peaceful mood, often just sitting still.
Recalling their filming in Hong Kong, Mun KaYoung shared that she had eaten a lot of delicious food and created good memories from shooting in new locations. Jong Suk noted that the weather was nice and that he loved it.
When asked about the food they missed most from Hong Kong, Mun KaYoung mentioned egg tarts, while Lee Jong Suk said Haidilao was his favourite. Mun KaYoung explained that during filming, food for each scene was already prepared, but if it tasted good, they could request more. Lee Jong Suk also spoke about enjoying hot pot and recommended a must-visit spot opposite the Art Centre in Seoul.
On the topic of teamwork, Lee Jong Suk said he focused on collaboration, describing his chemistry with KaYoung as very good, and praising her as a stable person to work with. Mun KaYoung expressed gratitude, saying Jong Suk took care of her and the rest of the team.
For fond memories, Mun KaYoung highlighted a Hong Kong scene she loved for its beautiful colour and texture. Lee Jong Suk didn’t single out one particular scene but said he enjoyed the group eating scenes, as they felt comfortable and friendly.
Mun KaYoung described herself as a workaholic, moving from one filming project to the next alongside touring. When asked what they might be doing if they were not celebrities, KaYoung said she had started acting from a young age and had never thought of another job. Jong Suk shared that he had always dreamed of being a star. We all agreed, they both “born to be stars.”
Lee Jong Suk said it was his first time spending a finale with fans and that he was grateful for the opportunity. Mun KaYoung agreed, calling it a rare chance to spend time with fans and a memory she would always treasure.
Looking ahead, Lee Jong Suk revealed that his next project would be another series titled Leonardo, while Mun KaYoung planned to continue her Asia fan meeting tour and prepare for her upcoming movie release.
The event ended with a lively photo session followed by a surprise cake presentation for Lee Jong Suk and Mun KaYoung, delighting both stars and making the moment even more memorable.
