What makes ALL(H)OURS’ latest album ‘Smoke Point’ so special? Find out in this exclusive interview!

Rookie boy group ALL(H)OURS has been making waves in the K-Pop scene with their dynamic performances and ambitious storytelling. Comprising seven members—Kunho, Youmin, Xayden, Minje, Masami, Hyunbin, and ON:N—the group officially debuted on January 10, 2024, with their first mini album, All Ours. From the start, ALL(H)OURS has embraced a bold musical identity, consistently delivering double title tracks with each release. Their second mini album, Witness, arrived in June 2024, further solidifying their artistry and growth.

Now, just over a year into their career, ALL(H)OURS is back with their third mini album, Smoke Point, released on February 4, 2025. With “Graffiti” and “Gimme Gimme” leading as double title tracks, the album showcases their evolving sound across five songs, including “Smoke Point,” “Kings & Queens,” and “Freaky Fresh,” the latter co-written by member Hyunbin. The album concept is rooted in the contrast between “Purity” and “Impurity,” symbolizing the group’s journey and passion as they define their own ‘Smoke Point’—a turning point shaped by their past year of growth and new creative vision.

In an exclusive interview, ALL(H)OURS opens up about their latest comeback, the meaning behind Smoke Point, and the artistic direction they’re embracing in 2025. From behind-the-scenes stories to personal reflections on their music, the members share insights into their creative process and what fans can expect next.

Hellokpop: Hi, ALL(H)OURS! It’s been such an exciting journey watching you grow over the past year. Now that you’ve hit your first debut anniversary, what are some of the most memorable moments from this exciting journey so far?

MINJE: Hello! One of my most memorable moments from the past year was when we did our showcase in Taipei. In Taipei, Min(ut)es did a surprise slogan event and made a video for us. All of us were touched by the event, and we were all so happy at the showcase.

MASAMI: My most memorable moment was when we performed in Osaka, my hometown! I was a little nervous to perform but I think we did really well. All my friends and family who came to see our performance said we were really great and I was proud of all of us.

KUNHO

HKP: As a group that’s been active for over a year now, how have you seen your connection with Min(ut)e grow, and how do they inspire you as artists?

KUNHO: I think my relationship with our fans, Min(ut)es, has become even more bonded over the last year. It’s like we can really rely on each other, looking out for each other’s backs. We know what each other is thinking about by just making eye contact. Personally, when I work on making lyrics, I am motivated by our fans; they are my muses. I often think back to the moments when we spent our time together, using it as one of the themes of the song, or I also get to sing happily just by thinking about them. When writing lyrics, I also think about the letters that Min(ut)es have sent and incorporate them into the lyrics.

HKP: Congratulations on the release of your third mini album, Smoke Point. How would you describe the overall concept and sound of this album compared to your previous work?

YOUMIN: Thank you! First of all, I want to talk about the similarities which can be seen in the title tracks. Our second mini album, WITNESS’, title track ‘도깨비 (SHOCK)’ and our third mini album, Smoke Point’s title track “GIMME GIMME” are composed based on the EDM genre. Thanks to the positive reception of the EDM sound in “도깨비 (SHOCK),” we were able to make the title track intense once again. The difference, however, is that the other title track, “Graffiti,” is a relatively brighter song, showcasing a refreshing vibe. I hope everyone enjoys ALL(H)OURS’ new attempt as well.

HKP: You’ve mentioned that ALL(H)OURS wants to show a more mature and powerful side with this album. How do you think your fans will see this evolution reflected in your music and performances?

XAYDEN: I believe it will be conveyed exactly as it is on stage. We paid more attention to all of the minor and major details and put a lot of effort into preparing this one. Since we are performers who need to prove ourselves on stage, we want to show everything we’ve worked on and make our Min(ut)e happy through our performances.

YOUMIN

HKP: Every album so far from ALL(H)OURS has featured double title tracks, including Smoke Point with “Graffiti” and “Gimme Gimme.” What makes the decision to have two title tracks so important to you as a group, and how do these two songs differ from each other in terms of style and themes? What makes them the perfect pair to represent this album?

MINJE: Depending on the title of the album, we usually choose a title track that could represent the album. In this album as well, we thought that the title track that could represent who we are as a group would be “Graffiti” and “GIMME GIMME.” We wanted two title tracks with two different genres to give a pleasant surprise to our fans and show that we are basically good at all kinds of genres.

“Graffiti” is a hip-hop-based song that evokes a free-spirited and street-like vibe, while “GIMME GIMME” is based on EDM, giving a heavier and more sensual vibe compared to “Graffiti.”

Though the styles are different, I believe both tracks are representative of this album. Our album title is ‘Smoke Point,’ and the phrase itself refers to the temperature at which the oil starts to smoke. And much like that, ALL(H)OURS is ready to begin again with the experiences we gained from working on and promoting our previous albums. Both songs, though stylistically different, hold enough significance to represent this album, so I think it was a perfect choice.

XAYDEN

HKP: The pre-release track “Graffiti” instantly captured the attention of fans. How does this song set the tone for the rest of Smoke Point, and what do you hope listeners take away from it?

MASAMI: I think “’Bout That Issue” (from ALL(H)OURS second mini album WITNESS) is similar to “Graffiti” because the song itself and the choreography gives a groovy and hip-hop-based sound. When I listen to “Graffiti,” it makes me want to dance and groove with the vibe of the song, so I hope all the listeners can dance and vibe to the song as well!

HKP: Are there any specific moments or lyrics in “Graffiti” and “Gimme Gimme” that you’re particularly proud of? What stands out to you as the most impactful parts of these songs?

HYUNBIN: I feel a bit proud of the rap part in “GIMME GIMME,” especially the part in the second verse that starts with “으랏차차.” Since it’s also the title of our first album, ALL OURS, there’s this sense of “Wow, we’ve already made it to the third album!” That feeling made the moment really meaningful, and I think it left a strong impression on me.

HKP: The music video for “Graffiti” features some intense and energetic choreography. What was the most fun or challenging part of filming the video?

ON:N: It took us 12 hours to film the “Graffiti” music video. As you have seen in the music video, there aren’t any acting scenes; it’s more focused on the choreography. “Graffiti” has a lot of hardcore choreography, so by the end of filming the video, we were quite physically exhausted.

MINJE

HKP: Can you tell us a bit about the songs on Smoke Point? Are there any hidden gems or personal favorites among the songs?

ON:N: This album consists of a total of five tracks. The energetic opener of the album “Smoke Point,” the bright and hopeful pre-released title track “Graffiti,” the intense title track “GIMME GIMME,” antique “Kings & Queens,” and the lowkey vibe of “Freaky Fresh.” My favorite track is “Freaky Fresh.” It’s based on hip-hop but also has that sexy mood, which is why it really stood out to me.

HKP: How did the group collaborate when deciding on the direction and style for Smoke Point? Was there any special input from the members themselves?

KUNHO: Our composer provides the overall guidelines for the songs. While recording, we focus on bringing our own vibe and expression, trying to express ourselves more freely. If you listen closely to the back vocals, you might be able to spot our voices. Among our members, HYUNBIN participated in writing the lyrics for the track ‘Freaky Fresh’ and wrote some really nice lyrics.

HKP: Which ALL(H)OURS member is most likely to stay up all night working on music ideas or dance moves?

YOUMIN: ON:N and I are mainly responsible for creating choreographies. For our first album, we worked on “Racer” together. In the second album, we worked on “PSYCHO MANTRA.” We would also like to continue to work on creating choreographies together because we make a great team. It’s always exciting to come up with new movements that match the vibe of each track.

MASAMI

HKP: If you could switch roles with each other for a day (like dance, vocals, or rap), who would you swap with, and what part of their role would you be excited to try?

KUNHO: I would say ON:N because I would like to live as the group’s youngest member for once and because he’s a great dancer, too.

YOUMIN: I like and am satisfied with my position in ALL(H)OURS. I would like to keep my position.

XAYDEN: I would like to switch with YOUMIN. YOUMIN has such a nice voice and usually sings the highlight of the song, which I’ve always been envious of.

MINJE: I would like to switch with MASAMI. I’m curious about how it feels to sing in his deeper, kind of vocal type of tone he does, and I would love to try rapping based on his voice.

MASAMI: I would like to switch with ON:N! I would love to dance really well and be at the center during the dance break.

HYUNBIN: I would like to switch positions with our leader, KUNHO. I personally really like his vocal tone, and his high notes are so captivating, so I would love to switch with him and try to sing his parts.

ON:N: I would like to switch positions with HYUNBIN. Even though we’re the same age, we take different roles in our team, so I would like to experience what it’s like to be in HYUNBIN’s position for a day.

HYUNBIN

HKP: If ALL(H)OURS were to form subunits based on your individual strengths, what would each subunit look like? Who would you like to be paired with in these subunits, and what kind of music or concepts would each subunit focus on?

XAYDEN: YOUMIN and I talked about performing as a subunit before. We both like pop and hip-hop, so we thought about combining those two genres and making music we have always wanted to try.

ON:N: First, I thought about HYUNBIN and I making a subunit group. As we are the youngest of our team, I think it would be fun to perform something bright and energetic. It would be great to create a fun mood with my vocals and HYUNBIN’s rap. Next, I thought about YOUMIN and MINJE being in a subunit. Since they both have sweet and soothing vocals, I think they would suit a calm and mellow ballad. Lastly, KUNHO, XAYDEN, and MASAMI would be a good subunit as well. Since they all have a strong presence, they would suit perfectly with a powerful hip-hop track with strong beats.

HKP: What are your hopes and dreams for the group as you continue to grow and make music together?

MINJE: I want to broaden our musical spectrum and introduce ALL(H)OURS and our music to people all around the world. Expanding our range and sharing our unique sound with the global audience is definitely something I’m passionate about.

ON:N

HKP: Looking ahead, what kind of impact do you want ALL(H)OURS to have on the K-pop industry? What makes your group stand out from other boy groups?

MASAMI: We want to become a performance idol group that no one in this industry can catch up to. Our ons and offs are very clear as well. On stage, we may seem intense and intimidating, but when we interact with our fans, we are real cuties!

HKP: Lastly, please leave a message to Min(ut)e reading this.

MINJE: Min(ut)e, I know you’ve been waiting for a long time, and I’m so thankful for your patience and all your expectations. We’ll make sure not to disappoint you all, so please keep looking forward to what’s coming next!

MASAMI: Min(ut)e!! We’ll show you our amazing performance along with our lives, too, so don’t go anywhere and keep waiting for us!
