EXO Baekhyun's 'Homma' Criticized for Closing Down on His Birthday — But Idol Still Gives Sweetest Response

EXO Baekhyun went viral with over 5.4M impressions after his farewell message to a fansite master, who announced the shut down of fan pages on the idol's birthday.

On May 6, the supposedly happy event for both EXO-Ls and Baekhyun as it was the idol's birthday turned bittersweet after one dedicated fansite master decided to shut down their fan page and YouTube channel.

When Eris criticized them for "ruining" the day with their announcement, EXO Baekhyun noticed the post and left his warmest reply despite being heartbroken.

In particular, @/El_Cielo_9256 is one of the most active "hommas" (homepage masters) of Baekhyun with over 7.2k followers after opening in May 2023.

For a year, the fansite master provided fans with high-quality photos and videos of the star from his official events & appearances.

However on May 6, the special day of Baekhyun, the fansite master suddenly posted on their X account, saying:

"CLOSE. There's some unfinished business, so I will close this account by the end of the month. YouTube channel will also be deleted!"

When this reached the knowledge of Eris, both international and Korean fans were pissed and annoyed for announcing their departure on the same day as Baekhyun's birthday. EXO-Ls pointed out that they could have waited for one or two more days.

Also, the fact that they announced closure without any valid reasons angers fans, implying that this might cause unwanted negative assumptions about Baekhyun.

However, Baekhyun proved his warm and kind heart when he left a reply to the post of his "homma" and said:

"I saw this while I was browsing...
So I wanted to say something...
But it feels like it's too late, right?
Still, thank you so much, you worked hard!
I hope that only good memories remain.
Whatever you do, I'll be rooting for you!
You can come to visit here any time again."

When EXO-Ls saw this, fans couldn't help but admire his genuine love for his supporters even if they kept on breaking his heart.

They also highlighted how no one deserves Baekhyun's sincere and kind personality when he always fails to receive the same treatment in return.

When the criticism of them intensified, the fansite master took to X to explain their situation and quoted:

"I don't know why I have to explain why I'm closing my account, but I'm explaining because I think there's a bad story coming out [...]

The reason for deleting the account is that my current life is so busy that I don't have time to worry about such stuff. I turned it on because I wanted to take care of his birthday even though I barely slept to the point where my acquaintances asked me if I was still sleeping. If the account is maintained, I'll try to watch it even though I know it's physically unreasonable, so I'm deleting it."

They also expressed affection for Baekhyun, saying:

"There was a time when I wanted to live thanks to the person who is also the reason for the existence of this account. It became my strength to live today. I don't want to leave any more records, but I'm rooting for you. Please don't get sick and I hope that you continue to become a cute puppy who receives a lot of love, where love is taken for granted like now."
