[FANMEETING RECAP] Lee Do Hyun Wraps Up Asia Tour with a Bang—and a Bear Hug—in Manila

1 day ago 4

Lee Do Hyun brought the house down in Manila on August 2, as he closed out his first-ever fan meeting tour, [Re ▶ DO HYUN], with a heartwarming and high-energy finale.

Organized by LUNARI Global, the much-awaited event took place at the EVM Convention Center and served as the final stop on his whirlwind journey across Asia — one that included seven other cities: Seoul, Jakarta, Osaka, Tokyo, Taipei, Bangkok, and Hong Kong.

Not Your Usual Opener

Skipping the usual mellow ballad intro, Lee Do Hyun surprised the crowd by diving straight into an upbeat number. Dressed in a stylish collared jacket and denim pants, the actor took the stage with a guitar and performed Lee Seung Yoon’s “Unspoken.” It was a personal pick, chosen for its heartfelt message that he wanted his beloved fans — the Dohyuns — to take to heart.

Shortly after, the host asked how he was finding Manila. Through his interpreter, Lee Do Hyun admitted that while he had been unsure about his condition that day, being in front of such an energetic crowd gave him a second wind. “I feel like flying and jumping!” he exclaimed, clearly moved by the electrifying reception.

In a seated talk segment, Lee Do Hyun looked back at some of his most iconic characters, from Go Woo-young in 18 Again, Lee Eun-hyuk in Sweet Home, Hwang Hee-tae in Youth of May, and Joo Yeojeong in The Glory, to Choi Kang-ho in The Good Bad Mother and Yoon Bong-gil in Exhuma.

Reflecting on Exhuma, he recounted the difficulty of a particular exorcism chant scene. “It wasn’t in a language I normally use, so I really struggled. We had to retake it multiple times,” he said, laughing at the memory.

When asked which drama he’d like a sequel to, Lee chose The Glory, curious to know whether his character’s quest for justice truly succeeded. Fans were especially excited at the idea, though the ultimate fan favorite of the night turned out to be 18 Again. While Lee initially had doubts about how well audiences would accept him playing a 30-something father, he was humbled by its overwhelming success. The host reassured him, and the audience echoed the sentiment: his performance was a standout.

Fans were also invited to pen down messages for him on colorful sticky notes. One lucky fan’s note moved everyone: “If I were to be born again, I’d still be your fan,” it read — a reminder of how deeply Lee Do Hyun has impacted lives beyond the screen.

Ahead of the event, LUNARI Global launched a hashtag campaign inviting fans to submit questions. A few selected ones made it to the live show. When asked whether he prioritizes the script or the character when choosing a project, Lee answered thoughtfully, “I look at both, but if I had to choose, the script matters more. Even if I love the character, I might pass if the story isn’t strong.”

The host noted how every character he’s played seems to tug at the audience’s heartstrings. Lee Do Hyun responded with humility, saying the messages from fans — especially those sharing how his acting brought them comfort — are what keep him going.

The cheers hit a new high when he declared Manila the most unforgettable stop of the tour. “Nobody’s allowed to go home!” he teased. The audience erupted into the iconic chant: “Walang uuwi!” Lee repeated the phrase with surprising ease, instantly endearing himself even more to the local crowd.

As a special treat, he shared unseen selfies from his daily life. One showed him hiking during a rare weekday off, while another — a fresh post-shower pic — had the cheeky caption: #BabyPowder.

[HEARTFELT PERFORMANCES]

After the sit-down portion, Lee Do Hyun took center stage once more to showcase his musical side. He delivered a carefully curated setlist that balanced raw emotion with charming fun.

He began with You Remember by Paul Kim — a hauntingly beautiful OST from The Glory. The mood then lifted as he sang Feeling Good by Michael Bublé and Piano Man by Billy Joel, channeling old-school cool. One of the biggest crowd-pleasers was his rendition of DAY6’s Welcome to the Show — bold, vibrant, and impossible not to dance along to.

Though his stage persona remained grounded and sincere, his deep love for music lit up every performance, leaving fans in awe of yet another layer of his talent.

[RE II QUIZ SEGMENT]

Of course, no fan meet is complete without fun and games. Lucky attendees got to participate in interactive segments, including a quiz based on trivia from Lee Do Hyun’s past roles.

Then came a showstopper moment: the Pantropiko dance challenge! Lee Do Hyun rose to the occasion, busting moves to the viral P-pop hit by girl group BINI — earning screams and applause from a delighted crowd.

One lucky fan also took home a special teddy bear with a recorded message from Lee himself — a sweet memento that made hearts melt.

[DOHYUNS’ CORNER]

As the night neared its end, fans had one more surprise in store — a tribute video expressing how much Lee Do Hyun has meant to them. Watching the montage of messages and moments, he was visibly moved, wiping away tears.

In his closing remarks, he reminded fans to care for themselves just as much as they care for him: “As much love as you give me, please make sure to love yourselves, too.”

He didn’t leave without a promise — to return to the Philippines for a full concert next time. And before the lights dimmed, he gave fans one more reason to smile: a teaser about an exciting new drama project set to premiere before the end of the year.
