Why is IU so generous and where does her giving nature come from?

Fans know that IU and her younger brother grew up with their grandmother, but many may not know the conditions she lived in. She lived in a small room full of cockroaches in poverty. She then moved to an alcoholic relatives house, facing constant verbal abuse towards her.

Even after she became a trainee, she was conned and robbed. An agency tricked her into sending them money and disappeared. IU’s grandmother had given her these funds, after saving up for months selling small accessories.

Thankfully, IU was able to overcome all this and more. She’s now one of the biggest idols in the world, helping millions of people and even paid off ALL her parents debts!
