Netflix‘s KPop Demon Hunters is taking over the world, but the movie didn’t do much for Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon. And while idols obviously reserve their rights to their own opinions, some netizens have entirely forgotten the fact and are now finding themselves in a heated debate about Taeyeon’s negative review of the movie.

In response to a fan asking if she had seen KPop Demon Hunters, the idol got straight-up and honest about it.

Fan: What about KPop Demon Hunters?

Taeyeon: I did watch it but I didn’t think it was for me. Like I got chills down my neck… Made me feel weird. It was the worst when the boys started posing in gat.

Fan: They’re the Saja Boys, like grim reapers.

Taeyeon: Oh, I’m dead, LOL.

Fan: But isn’t the tiger super cute?

Taeyeon: There’s a tiger in it? I guess I didn’t watch it that far.

Long-time Taeyeon fans, who know her usual preference to align with non-romance, non-drama, horror thrillers, had no trouble understanding why the animated musical fantasy film did not intrigue her.

But then, when screenshots of Taeyeon’s messages began circulating online, some netizens simply could not accept the fact.

So I wondered what the genre was. When I looked it up, it was categorized ‘For Kids.’
