HYBE and Geffen are being criticized for “censoring” KATSEYE.
Recently, KATSEYE had a broadcast to celebrate “KATSEYE Day.” Shortly after the live broadcast, it was reposted on the KATSEYE YouTube channel for VOD (video on demand), but netizens noticed something about the video.
After watching it, fans realized that parts that they had watched during the live broadcast had been taken out. In particular, two moments from the broadcast from Manon made netizens LOL, including the idol accidentally swearing and then referring to being on her period, have been taken out.

The comments reflected that netizens knew these moments (among others, had been taken out).
In particular, netizens shared their sadness about the “period” topic being removed because it was seemingly making something normal seem “taboo.” KATSEYE are role models to many girls, and it was refreshing to see idols speak about something many people experience, just for it to be taken out.
they cut the part where manon said she was on her period when she wrote her note 💔 NORMALIZE PERIODS

i love the girls but the censors annoy me sm – even if their target audience is slightly younger, younger people still get periods & know what swear words are 😭 but a lot of their fans are not even that young and they even swear in one of their songs so?? https://t.co/98XPuB6fw2

the girls' freedom to express themselves as young women is one of the biggest appeals of katseye they need to let them be https://t.co/H5NuWOaT9K
