Following the disclosure of numerous HYBE “internal reports” at their audit with the National Assembly, the company has been under scrutiny over its creative decisions. The documents contained shocking information, including the company’s plans to discard NewJeans in the midst of promoting ILLIT and LE SSERAFIM, as well as insults about other companies’ idols.

Now, netizens are pointing out similarities between HYBE groups and other K-Pop stars while accusing the company of copying even things like popular idol hairstyles. In particular, a post pointing out the similarities between aespa‘s Winter and LE SSERAFIM’s Chaewon has gone viral on TheQoo with more than 30,000 views and over 500 comments.
In the post, the user points out that Winter opted for platinum blonde hair during aespa’s “Armageddon” promotions following its release on May 25. THey also pointed out that her blonde hair had a slight bit of blue strands on the top of her head to compliment the platinum color.
Months after aespa concluded their promotions for “Armageddon,” LE SSERAFIM came back with “CRAZY.”
Chaewon seems to have a similar hair color to Winter’s — including the blue parts — while filming content for “CRAZY.” However, the LE SSERAFIM star opted for a wavier hairdo and more prominent blue.
I added different colored hair extensions, and I’m really really in love with how it turned out.

Regardless, the similarities have made waves online, with netizens suspicious of HYBE’s intentions and originality since the exposed “internal reports” made the rounds online.
- “Is it really a coincidence that one member’s hairstyle overlaps so much with another specific member’s? It doesn’t seem like a reach to me.”
- “Honestly, it’s possible they might’ve copied.”
- “I think it’s true… LOL”
- “That last one is actually so uncanny!”
- “But it’s true that they later copied various styles from just one person.”
- “Sure, any K-Pop artist could technically pull off that hairstyle, but when it keeps overlapping with just one member’s style, it’s hard to believe it’s a coincidence — especially if it’s HYBE. Even if it’s not true, isn’t it their own fault for being suspicious? It’s more shameless to act wronged in this situation.”
- “With just a few items, people start making connections like it’s some kind of hint, but honestly, there’s a lot of overlap here. Isn’t HYBE’s own past behavior coming back to bite them? They should’ve just kept it subtle in the first place.”
