i-dle has cancelled the group's entire North American leg of its 2026 "Syncopation" world tour, citing unspecified "unforeseen issues" and leaving thousands of fans across the United States and Canada scrambling to change their plans.

The group's agency released a brief English and Korean notice on social media and the official tour website early Saturday, confirming that all announced headline dates in North America will no longer proceed.

The statement did not elaborate on the nature of the issues, saying only that they were "beyond the control of the artists and local promoters." It added that the rest of the 2026 i-dle WORLD TOUR [Syncopation], including scheduled dates in Asia and Oceania, remains unchanged at this time, according to Asian Blooming.

The cancellation affects arena shows that were due to run from early to late August, less than two months after the conclusion of the Asian leg. These dates included previously announced stops in Hamilton, Newark, Philadelphia, and Seattle, among others, as well as a now-uncertain standalone arena appearance in Chicago.

Fans who had secured tickets through primary platforms such as Ticketmaster and venue box offices are being promised automatic refunds.

According to the notice, refunds will be processed to the original method of payment within a standard window set by each ticketing partner, and customers will not need to take extra steps unless they purchased through third-party resellers.

Several fans on social media, including Reddit, expressed frustration after noticing that North American dates had quietly disappeared from venue calendars and ticketing sites before the formal announcement.

Some fans also raised concerns about nonrefundable travel and accommodation expenses, with posts describing flights and hotels booked months in advance for multiple shows. Others said they were relieved to receive official confirmation after days of speculation over disappearing listings and inactive ticket links.

The North American leg was announced with significant fanfare on Mar. 3, when i-dle appeared on NBC's TODAY Show to perform their latest single "Mono" and unveil the "Syncopation" arena run, Pollstar reported.

The tour was positioned as the group's first world tour in roughly two years and part of promotions for a new project expected in May. Industry data from Pollstar shows i-dle had previously drawn strong attendance on earlier tours, selling tens of thousands of tickets across 12 reported headline dates.

Online fan discussions have speculated about possible reasons for the cancellation, ranging from logistical problems to weaker-than-expected ticket sales in certain markets, but there has been no official confirmation on any of these points.

The group is still listed on the lineup for Lollapalooza in Chicago, and festival organizers have not announced any change to that appearance, adding to uncertainty about i-dle's summer North American activities, as per Allkpop.

The agency ended its statement by apologizing to North American Neverlands and asking for their understanding while promising future opportunities to meet fans in the region.
