Some idol groups stay together for decades. Others, unfortunately, are not nearly as long-lived. After just one year together, one girl group is splitting up.

Shirayuri to Ame is a six-member Japanese idol girl group that debuted on April 11, 2024. They are part of a “circle group” (a group that has several different groups, comparable to K-Pop subunits, within it) under Circle Lyee. Other groups in Circle Lychee include Mercuro, Verotica, Clara Magura, VILLAINS HOUSE, Kurai Sekai, Gimmick, Circle Lychee Jukusei (trainees), and UtoYuni, totaling over 50 members.

On April 5, 2025, Shirayuri announced that they will be disbanding after their first anniversary performance and encouraged their fans to support them until the very end. The announcement came just two months after a former member, Kaguya Saki, left the group on February 17. The event will take place on May 19, 2025.
