iKON’s Jay was discharged from his mandatory military service earlier this year on April 19, 2025. He immediately greeted fans through various challenges and several solo video content uploaded through iKON’s official YouTube channel. But perhaps the one thing fans were most excited to see from the idol was new music – and they didn’t need to wait too long! On July 15th, his album scheduler dropped with the details about his new album, “207,” set to release on July 31st.

What makes this special is the fact that “207” will mark his first full-length album. It has been a little over two years since his last solo release, “BLUE MOON,” which he was unable to promote due to his military enlistment. But now, fans are excited to see Jay promote in person and perform live across various stages.

“207” contains double title tracks, the pre-released ‘We Can’t Explain’ and ‘OBEY.’ Following up are just as amazing b-sides, ‘Friend Zone,’ ‘One Dance,’ ‘Fly,’ ‘Subject,’ ‘Angel,’ ‘Loving You,’ and ‘When It’s Raining.’ Each track showcases Jay’s incredible vocals, representing him as both a soloist and member of iKON. He was able to preview some of these new songs through his fanmeeting tour, which was held across Osaka, T0kyo, and Seoul. Hearing his new songs prior to release allowed fans to get an early look at how Jay has grown as an artist and how he’s continued to maintain his skills, despite his military enlistment.

Fans will also be quick to notice that ‘Angel’ and ‘Loving You’ were written and composed by B.I. While they might be walking on different paths now, many are happy to see their bond still intact after all these years. On the surface, this might be just new music, but it serves as a way for Jay to repay iKONic for their patience and continuous support. Fans are looking forward to hear “207” in full once it’s released on July 31st KST.

Music Show Appearances

With his pre-release track, ‘We Can’t Explain,’ Jay is already performing on various music shows. The support for him hasn’t faded one bit as fanchants could be heard during each performance and iKON’s lightstick was seen throughout the crowd. While many groups have debuted in his absence, his longevity and impact is still apparent in the K-Pop community. With his full-length album on the way and another title track to promote, Jay will have more opportunities to meet fans on stage during this promotional period.
