Singer IU recently talked about the permanent change her body has undergone due to long-term dieting.

On February 1, KST, IU appeared on the popular YouTube show Pinggyegoas a special guest along with actor Park Bo Gum. The two are gearing up for the release of their new K-Drama, When Life Gives You Tangerines.

During their conversation with the MCs Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho, Park Bo Gum revealed that the things he enjoyed the most in life were working, enjoying life, and eating. Eventually, Yoo Jae Suk asked IU about her relationship with food, enquiring, “Do you not eat much?”
IU replied revealing that her love for food has been undercut by the loss of appetite. “I used to really like eating, but at some point, I think my appetite decreased,” she shared. Yoo recalled that IU’s cheeks used to be chubby because she liked snacking so much.
IU agreed, adding that her face stores fat very quickly, which had forced her to constantly watch what she ate. This vigilance about food came at a dear price, shrinking her appetite altogether.
I especailly really liked sweets. I tend to gain weight in my face first. To deal with my facial fat, I have always been on a diet after I debuted. But at some point, I just didn’t crave food as much as before. My appetite decreased, and I think my stomach also shrank.
