As one of the top fourth-gen K-Pop girl groups, IVE boasts a mighty fanbase and a significant portion of it is young kids and teenagers. Though artists often face a challenge in balancing their art and catering to the younger demographic of their fanbase, IVE has managed to do it well. According to a recent anecdote shared by Yujin, a lot of it might be owed to the members’ personal sense of responsibility.

On February 7, KST, IVE appeared on The Seasons: Rainbow of Lee Young Ji as a special guest and shared some behind stories. When the conversation shifted to IVE’s recent world tour, Lee Young Ji asked if they tried to create diva-like moments to appeal to their younger fans.

In response, Yujin shared an anecdote when she altered her performance to cater to her younger audience. “I once did a somewhat daring performance wearing revealing clothes,” she recalled, adding that after the show, she went to greet the audience members one by one, only to realize many of them were children.

Yujin continued, “That night, I thought to myself, ‘Do I really need to show such a bold appearance to these young kids?’ So I revised the choreography.” She then made the entire room burst into laughter by praising herself, saying, “A good influence?”
