Soloist Jessi has been center of controvery recently.
The incident occurred on September 28, KST, at Gangnam, Seoul, when an underaged fan approached Jessi for a picture and was assaulted by a man believed to be the singer’s acquaintance. CCTV cameras captured the incident, and JTBC released footage to the public. While Jessi appeared to step in briefly to stop the incident before leaving, many criticized her for neglecting responsibility in that situation since it was related to her.
Still, fans defended Jessi, since it was revealed that the man who assaulted the minor fan was practically a stranger to her. Singer ØHENRY, who was also there that night, came forward as a witness and emphasized her innocence.
While Jessi has continually apologized, she was sued on charges of intimidation and accused of helping the suspect to escape. On October 16, she had to appear for questioning at the Gangnam Police Station.
Recently, Jessi has been cleared of charges. The investigation could not find any plausible evidence of Jessi’s involvement in the assault. The police found no evidence of her threatening the victim or aiding the suspect’s escape.
Now, it’s been reported that JTBC’s previously released footage that cited a lot of hate toward Jessi was edited. It didn’t show the entire situation, and Jessi had actively attempted to stop the incident.
Wish I was surprised @JTBC_news /@jtbc_saban altered the footage to lead the witch hunt against Jessi.
1. The victim was out smoking with friends at 3am
2. He clearly didn’t leave immediately when said no
3. #Jessi really tried to break up the fight

Netizens are calling out JTBC for deceptively editing the footage to make Jessi look bad. They are urging JTBC to apologize.
The CCTV footage was EDITED by kmedia to make it look like Jessi left the scene when that was NOT true. Luckily, the truth only goes one way.

This isn’t the first time that JTBC circulated fake footage that made a celebrity look bad. Previously, JTBC reported CCTV footage claiming it was of BTS Suga‘s drunk driving scooter incident, but it wasn’t.
