Love Oh Love (from Time For Us – 2019)
This song directly references GFriend’s debut era, almost to the point where it feels like a re-creation of songs like Me Gustas Tu and Glass Bead. I’m not complaining, since this “powerful innocence” sound is something I dearly love and miss. However, there’s only so far a direct copy can go. I don’t remember this standing out for me much in 2019, but now that K-pop is more removed from this approach it sounds especially refreshing. All that’s missing is a stronger set of melodies. With that said, Love Oh Love‘s effusive chorus is still quite fun.
