Secret Diary (Yerin & SinB) (from Walpurgis Night – 2020)

This is the last of Walpurgis Night’s unit tracks I’ll be writing about and my thoughts pretty much fall in line with the previous two. These unit tracks feel like a missed opportunity for experimentation, falling back on easy listening sounds rather than exploring more daring genres. Secret Diary is a perfectly nice mid-tempo with great vocals. It sounds especially cozy this time of year. But for me, it’s very much “mid-album filler” – a chance to take a breath between more compelling moments.
