K-pop boy group MONSTA X has announced their comeback schedule for their upcoming mini album titled THE X, set to be released on September 1, 2025.

The announcement came through a schedule poster shared by the group's agency, Starship Entertainment, via MONSTA X's official social media channels on August 5, 2025. The poster outlines a month-long series of teaser content designed to build anticipation leading up to the album launch.

The comeback schedule begins with the tracklist reveal on August 8. This will be followed by the release of concept photos for two versions of the album: the Unknown X version on August 10 and the Hello X version on August 12. These early teasers aim to give fans a glimpse of the album's visual and thematic elements.

Further promotional content includes a music video teaser for a pre-release track on August 16, with the full pre-release song dropping digitally on August 18. On August 21, a performance video of this pre-release track will be released to maintain momentum before the official comeback.

MONSTA X will continue teasing fans with concept photos of the Underdog X version on August 23 and the XX version on August 25. As the comeback date approaches, a music video teaser for the album's title track is scheduled for August 30, followed by an album preview on August 31. The full mini album THE X will then be officially released on September 1 at 6 p.m. KST.

The upcoming album, THE X, marks MONSTA X's first full-group comeback in four years and coincides with the group's 10th anniversary since debuting in 2015. The letter "X" in the album's title symbolizes the unknown and also represents the Roman numeral for 10, highlighting the significance of this milestone. The group's agency described the album as a bold next chapter reflecting their musical evolution over the decade.

Before the official comeback announcement, MONSTA X premiered the song "Fire & Ice" from the new album during their 10th anniversary concert "2025 MONSTA X CONNECT X." This pre-release track was self-composed by member Hyungwon and showcased the group's signature intensity and artistry, raising fans' expectations for the new release.

All six members have returned from their military service, with only the youngest member, I.M., scheduled to enlist later in 2025. During the group's hiatus, members remained active through solo and unit projects while preparing for a strong return with this album.

MONSTA X's comeback with THE X is highly anticipated by fans worldwide as they mark a decade of their presence in the K-pop industry, promising a fresh and impactful musical chapter starting September 1, 2025.
