A K-Pop idol’s solo fanmeetings have been repeatedly canceled, and it’s been reported that the reason for the cancelations differs from what’s mentioned in the official statement.

According to MyDaily’s report on the 24th, ZEROBASEONE member Kim Jiwoong’s fanmeetings scheduled for July 11 in Macau and July 18 in Taipei were confirmed to have been canceled.

According to an insider, the official explanation was “unavoidable circumstances,” but the real reason was low ticket sales due to high ticket prices. The best ticket for the Macau fan meeting was priced at 1,588 Hong Kong dollars, approximately ₩310,000 KRW (about $202 USD). The good seats for the Taipei fan meeting were 5,680 Taiwan dollars, roughly ₩280,000 KRW (about $183 USD). These prices are unreasonably high compared to domestic rates.

In response, Kim Jiwoong’s agency, Nest Management, stated, “The performance has been postponed due to unavoidable reasons. We carefully reviewed the production company and event plans from various angles, and after much consideration for a better stage and a higher quality performance, we made this decision. Refunds will be processed according to the established procedures.”

Kim Jiwoong debuted in 2016 as part of INX and re-debuted in 2023 with ZEROBASEONE. He is currently active as a solo artist as well and kicked off his Asia tour at the KBS Arena in Seoul on the 20th and 21st.
