Indie K-Pop Label hello82 to Open East Coast Headquarters in New York City
Newmark secures 6,192-square-foot lease at the Chetrit Organization’s 427 Broadway in SoHo
hello82, the leading independent K-pop label in the U.S. will open its first-ever New York City location at 427 Broadway in SoHo, Manhattan. The new events and promotions space, which will serve as the company’s East Coast flagship, spans 6,915 square feet across the ground floor and lower level.
Said Jae Yoon Choi, Founder and CEO, hello82, “New York K-pop fans – while incredibly passionate and active – are especially underserved, and we are here to amend that. We now have a home for fans to find exclusive access to artists and new album drops that those in other cities have come to expect from us. Our successful fan space concept goes well beyond being a standard storefront by incorporating unique experiences and social elements to super serve passionate K-pop fans. This is just the beginning – Dallas and Chicago, we are coming for you next!”
The fan space will feature the same level of excitement that has regularly been a part of the hello82 locations – both in their Los Angeles flagship and their Atlanta location. From artist visits to listening parties, cupsleeve events, exclusive merch sales, and more – hello82 NYC will bring the ultimate fan experience to one central, interactive location. hello82’s expanding footprint of fan spaces, as well as their network of album release campaigns across the U.S., Mexico and Europe, are a key driver of the company’s success.
Newmark’s Howard Kesseler, Jason Pruger, Jason Stein and Alex Kesseler represented the landlord, The Chetrit Organization, in the multi-year lease transaction. David Berger of Bernstein Real Estate represented the tenant.
“We are proud to welcome hello82 to 427 Broadway and look forward to debuting their first-ever and flagship presence within the City’s retail market,” said Michael Chetrit of the Chetrit Organization.
“This is not only a significant milestone for the company but also represents the continued demand and global appeal of the SoHo market.
