On May 13, KST, the former CEO of SM Entertainment (SM hereon), Lee Soo Man, attended the premiere of his documentary, Lee Soo Man: The King of K-Pop.

The documentary has been in the limelight even before its release due to its controversial content. Many of the idols who were working under SM while Lee was the CEO also appeared in it during interviews.
The premiere was also a star-studded affair, with many iconic SM stars appearing on the red carpet. Lee was seen holding hands with Super Junior member Choi Siwon and SHINee‘s Taemin at the premiere.

Notably, Lee’s documentary got into trouble with many K-Pop fans over its alleged insensitive handling of SHINee Jonghyun‘s funeral footage.
Other than the two boy group members, multiple Girls’ Generation members also showed up to support Lee, namely, Sunny, Tiffany Young, and Hyoyeon. Among them, only Hyoyeon is still signed under SM. Meanwhile, Sunny, who is also the niece of Lee, signed with his new agency A2O Entertainment this year to serve as a special trainer for trainees.

The premiere was also attended by the rookie girl group, A2O May. The group, comprising entirely of non-Korean members, was launched by Lee Soo Man in December last year.
