On March 24, it was announced that KPop Demon Hunters will be teaming up with McDonald’s for the launch of two special adult meals: the HUNTR/X meal and the Saja Boys Breakfast Meal. The announcement was followed by an animated ad featuring the characters of HUNTR/X and Saja Boys, promoting the collaboration.

This brand deal, however, has not been taken well by a large number of fans due to McDonald’s involvement in the ongoing genocide in Gaza, carried out by the state of Israel. The brand has been on the BDS boycott list for a few years now, and every celebrity association with it has been met with some level of pushback.

gang. the genocide. please dont buy into this bullshit https://t.co/NfhMLcX81S

they're being boycotted cause they were giving free happy meals to idf soldiers who were spending their day killing and bombing palestinians btw, in case someone genuinely wants to know in the year of 2k26. https://t.co/JWZfm2TqV1

Though some tried to defend the collaboration, netizens hit back with scathing counters.

mind u, y’all are ignoring the boycott for 10 soggy nuggets made of pigeon ass and 3 cold fries, all bc they have a huntrix label on them and a cheap prize. y’all be hungry asffffffff 😭 pic.twitter.com/jJDGGfSrwP

it’s honestly so odd seeing how many of you stop caring about boycotts the second you see something you love involved. https://t.co/C6UWln2C8i
